Stop treating your visibility like a side job.

Visibility is the work of putting yourself in front of the people you want to work with.
Posting consistently. Naming what makes your work yours. Telling people what to come to you for.

We resist this because we hold onto the idea that our work should speak for itself.

When it doesn't, we look for somewhere to put the blame like the bad economy or too many tattooers now.

The economy was solid before, which meant bad or nonexistent marketing didn't matter as much and the schedule filled up either way.

That's worth grieving.
And after we grieve, we focus on the work that keeps our careers moving.
